Book Review

Look what Polly had to say about “Messengers in Denim” on Amazon:

Brilliant! December 14, 2010

Just as “What to Expect When You’re Expecting” is a smart gift for parents-to-be, so should “Messengers” be presented to people either expecting kids or well into raising them. What an incredible resource! Dr. Donahue covers so much territory that at first it seemed intimidating, but as I read each chapter I was both entertained and enlightened. Never preachy or repetitive, reading Dr. Donahue is like sitting down with a wise, experienced friend who really wants to help. I feel like I’m eavesdropping on actual situations that I may one day face and the lessons I have learned are priceless. As the mother of two ten year old girls, I have highlighted and bent the corners of so many pages that it looks like a mess, but no matter, it has been and will continue to be a book I grab off the shelf over and over again. At the core of many of this country’s problems is the fact that we’ve lost basic principles. Real character and leadership seem to be lacking. This book helps parents think about developing that in their children. Thank you for writing this book Dr. Donahue. I hope you know that you’re changing lives.

It was always my goal to help parents raise kids who become men and women of character. Thanks, Polly, but now I have tears in my eyes.
