Sorry for not having a blog this week! I am working with another blogger on a guest blog and will post it soon. In the meantime, I will write short, personal notes until the guest blog is ready or more people click “Like” on this one.
Last night Mary and I attended a high school band concert in which two of our grand-kids played. I love high school concerts. I especially liked this one.
Between bands (the school had three of them) the director explained some of the reasons that band is important for kids and all of us, for that matter.
Just a couple of things he said: Music enriches all of our lives, group music helps establish and keep friendships, you can and should continue to play all you live, but most important, he mentioned that colleges and universities give a priority to graduates who play in their high school band.
But, I just like music and especially music played by dedicated young people with smiles on their faces. We have two other grand-kids at another local high school and will have another fun night next month.
If you have a chance attend your local high school’s spring band concert. I am sure you will love it and the kids will enjoy seeing your smiling face in the audience.
